The Bishop Burton Golf Society meets once or twice each year and we play on courses in the area. There is no membership fee and both men and women are members of the society. Everyone is welcome whatever their standard of golf.

2025 Spring
The Spring 2025 meeting will take place at Grimsby Golf Club on Wednesday 14th May 2025. First tee time will be about 12 noon and will be preceded by coffee and a bacon roll. If you would like to take part please contact Bryn Jones for more information.

2024 Spring
The Spring 2024 competition was held at Hainsworth Park Golf Club on Wednesday 15th May 2024. The first tee time was at 12 noon preceded by a hot drink and a bacon sandwich. In the evening we met up for a meal at the Altisidora with our non-golfing partners invited to take part. The winners of the Ladies and Gentlemen’s competitions were Rachel and Karl Thorne. Tracy Green was runner up in the Ladies competition and Graeme Pittaway in the Genetlemen’s competition. Martin Green and Richard Stocks were nearest the flag on the wo par 3 holes.
2023 Spring
The Spring 2023 meeting of the golf society took place on 3rd May 2023 at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club. Nine gentlemen took part on a day which was ideal for relaxing golf on a course with many varied holes.
The winner was Martin Green who scored 36 points. Runner up was Graeme Pittaway with 31 points and in 3rd place was Marc Henderson with 30 points. Nearest the pin on the 6th hole was Bob Brattan.
2024 Autumn
The Autumn 2024 competition took place at the Kilnwick Percy (KP) Golf Club in the afternoon of Wednesday 25th September. Set in the hills above Pocklington with magnificent views across the vale of York to the north and the south, the KP Golf club is a good, friendly course suited to both experienced and inexperienced golfers. The winner of the Gentlemen’s competition was Darren Frost with 42 points; the winner of the Ladies competition was Tracy Green.
2023 Autumn
The Autumn 2023 competition was held at Cave Castle Golf Club on Wednesday 4th October 2023. The winner of the gentlemen’s competition was Paul Hayward with 34 points, followed by Bob Brattan on 29 points.
