BOUNDARY REFERENDUM – YOUR VOTE COUNTS – DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF AN EXPANDED CITY OF HULL??

Hull City Council is looking at what it calls its restricted administrative boundaries:

  • one of the potential solutions may be a boundary extension. Whilst Bishop Burton is not one of the 12 Parishes to be directly affected by the potential boundary change, should Hull City Council succeed they will significantly change the face of East Yorkshire and thus YOU are likely to be directly affected by the repercussions.
  • An alternative is having a single authority combining Hull and East Riding Council. This will clearly affect all residents in both Hull and East Riding.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has unanimously resolved to strongly resist any attempts by Hull City Council to expand its boundary into the East Riding.

East Riding is keen to get your views. East Riding residents who do not live in the 12 Parishes directly affected by the proposals can have their say on the issue by completing and returning a consultation form that will be published in September’s edition of Your East Riding – which you should all receive through the post.

PLEASE LET EAST RIDING HAVE YOUR VIEWS AND IN THIS WAY HELP THEM FIGHT OUR CAUSE.

A full copy of the information received to date has been put on the village website.
