Over the summer holidays Emily Evans and Harvey Wilmot-Payne both from Bishop Burton teamed up with three friends from Walkington Primary School (Hannah Thomas, Alice Batten and Brooke Christiansen) as part of the Lifestyle Challenge. Calling themselves the Bishop Burton Boogie Bunch the friends planned and organised a sponsored walk across the Beverley Westwood wearing pyjamas! They held a cake bake sale, selling delicious buns and cakes on the Walkington playing fields and around Bishop Burton.

The aim of the Lifestyle Challenge is to encourage young people to work together to help their local community. The Bishop Burton Boogie Bunch decide to raise money towards the Bishop Burton playground, a generous gesture as all five will be too old to use the playground when it is completed, but they wanted to help the younger children in the village.
They raised a fantastic £267 in total! All this was achieved as a result of working together and giving up their time over the summer holidays.

A big thank you to everyone who sponsored the team and to those who bought the cakes and buns.
