John Dunning had his attention brought to an article in a recent edition of the Spectator magazine. It was a "Churchwarden's Lament" by Ursula Buchan. Ursula is a churchwarden in Peterbrough as is Pauline, Dorothy Dunning's daughter.  Ursula is also an award-winning journalist and author. She invites us to say a prayer for the volunteers who keep our churches standing. John felt that others might like to share the article which can be viewed by clicking on this link. So if you've ever wondered what church wardens have to do, this article will inform you. Ursula Buchan is the grand-daughter of John Buchan the author of the well-known thriller, the 39 steps.
