This is a note of the Parish Council meeting held on Monday 3rd October. It is being made available pending publication of the full minutes which will occur when they are approved at the next meeting.

Bishop Burton Parish Council Accounts - please note that the approved accounts ending in March 2011, are now ready for inspection. The paperwork can be inspected at Knights Garth Farm, Callas [ 550294]. You are asked to ring Cllr Mrs Ellerington with your request in the first instance.

Rathlin Energy - oil exploration - there is to be a exhibition by Moorhouse Petroleum ,who are acting for Rathlin, on Monday 17th October from 4pm to 8pm in the main hall of the Village Hall. Do pop in and find out exactly what will be going on and the possible impact.

War Memorial grounds - we are asking for volunteers to come and help tidy up the grounds of the War Memorial on Saturday 29th October. If you feel that you can spare some time then please contact Martin Gray on 550217. You will need a wheelbarrow and a garden fork!

The Council is letting all residents know that the planning application to erect 1 meteorological mast at land south of Cow Wold Road, Bishop Burton is to be referred to the Planning Inspectorate - there is hope that the Wolds area is, within not too long a timeframe, designated on area of outstanding beauty. Should you wish to object to this application it is important that a letter, sent by as many individuals as possible, is sent to the Planning Inspectorate. You will need to quote reference number APP/E2001/A/11/2159594/NWF. The address is 3/18a, Eagle Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN. You have to send through 3 copies of your letter to arrive no later than 14 October 2011.
