Here we are at the end of the autumn season and looking ahead to Christmas and 2011. This autumn we ran a trek to the Dolpo region in Western Nepal, a very remote region and a new area for us. The group were there at the very start of the season so caught the end of the monsoon which added to their challenge! All went well despite some interesting weather!

We have also been to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar at 17,000 feet. The group had thoroughly enjoyed their trek and were bowled over by the mountain scenery and the people. It was their first time trekking in Nepal and they all made it and achieved reaching this height and seeing this beautiful giant of a mountain. It may be a well known route and it is still one of the most outstanding mountain views in the world!

Lastly for now, we have been back to the Annapurna region however this time we went to Tent Peak, reached the summit then continued on to Mardi Himal peak, both around 6000 metres. It is a very demanding trip to take on two peaks in one trip and listening to the guides they were really fortunate with the weather being kind. The group are now white water rafting as an extra as they had plenty of time to include this at the end of the trip. We do arrange this activity from time to time and it is a really fun thing to do, regardless of previous experience. We do recommend you know how to swim if you want to give this a go!

Kalsang is not back yet so I am sure once he is we will have more details to share with you about the autumn adventures.
