Last November Jenny Lloyd (nee Francis) came over from France with her two children to visit her mother and also to join in with the Bonfire Night celebrations.

Jenny is keen for Felix and Imogen to sample this unique British celebration and likes to re-live the fun she had here when she was young. They had come prepared with some old clothes and a body stuffed with shredded straw, in order to make a ‘Guy'. The finished result looked great sitting on top of the bonfire and he burnt brilliantly.

Felix promised to do a drawing of him for us to use as the November front cover and here it is. Thank you Felix.

Any youngsters prepared to make a ‘Guy' for the bonfire this year? If so, remember that you need to:-

a. Check with your parents about the old clothes!!
b. Let the bonfire committee know that you have made a ‘Guy'.
c. Let the bonfire committee help you put it on the bonfire on the afternoon of 5th November,

Thank you to all our contributors for getting their articles to us early for this edition so that we could publicise the Beverley Chicken Casserole 700 takeaway meals in aid of Age UK(see further on in the Newsletter)

Can we please have any copy by 4th January (or earlier if convenient) for the January edition. This gives us all time to recover after Christmas and the New Year celebrations.

A Happy Christmas to you all.
