Nicky of 14 Finkle Street, is at the moment doing a sterling job making Scrub bags for nurses. Scrub bags are in great demand, they are used for dirty scrubs. The idea is that you insert your soiled scrubs into the bag (at work) and don’t need to handle them at home because you can throw the bag and contents straight into the washing machine.
She would love your help either in making them or in ensuring that she can keep making them by donating:

• Polycotton Duvet covers – she is looking especially for bright and whacky ones, to put a smile on the face of the medical staff.
• Drawstring chord or non-fraying ribbon – It needs to be at least a metre long (each bag uses a metre)
• Standard or large pillowcases

If you have any of the above that you are able to give her please text her on 07815575757 to let her know you are coming and drop the items into the container that she will place outside the back of her house – 14 Finkle Street (the one next to the shop).

If you have the skills and are able to make some, drop me a line at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will send you across the instructions to make them from Duvets. If you are not on email give me a call on (01964) 551315 and I will let you have the details of what is required. Alternatively they can be made from standard or large normal pillowcases by putting a drawstring across the top of a pillowcase. If you are able to make them that would be great. If you are short of any items please text Nicky on 07815 575757 to arrange collection. Once you have made them please text Nicky and she will put a container outside her back door for you to pop them in.

Brilliant work – Well done Nicky. Let’s see if we can all help her and see how many we can make as a village.
