We are very pleased to announce that through ArtERY, Chris Newman and Maire Ni Chathasaigh will be entertaining us with their festive feast of Harp and Guitar on Friday November 24th in the Village Hall. Chris is “One of the UK’s most staggering and influential acoustic guitarists” (ROOTS) and Marie “the doyenne of Irish harpers” (SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY).

Individually famed for their originality, innovation and virtuosity on their respective instruments, together they have created one of the most distinctive voices in modern acoustic music.

Their Christmas show features a breath-taking blend of traditional Irish music, swing jazz and bluegrass, plus festive favourites given a fresh voice with arrangements that are intricate, inventive, moving and beautiful, and performed in their characteristically heart-warming style – a spell binding treat for winter.
